Culvita Rose Soil has been specially developed as an additive for planting roses in gardens, patios and pots.
What it is suitable for:
Culvita Rose Soil can be used for all roses. Roses are woody plants and therefore need a soil that is easily affected by fungi. In a soil that is more dominated by moulds, the nutrients are more available to the rose plants. In addition, this fungal dominance makes the rose bush less susceptible to disease. This rose soil contains organically bound nutrients for roses that cannot wash out and are available to the rose for a whole season.
What it is not suitable for:
There are no restrictions on the use of Culvita Rose Soil.
Properties:
Culvita Rose Soil is a mixture of garden peat, peat moss peat, clay and high-quality humus compost. In addition to an organic base fertiliser and lime, it contains RhizoPlus. RhizoPlus is a mixture of mycorrhiza and other rhizosphere bacteria and fungi. The addition of RhizoPlus makes feed and water uptake faster and easier. In addition, RhizoPlus promotes the natural balance.
Application:
Planting shrub roses in the garden:
This bag contains enough rose soil for 5 rose bushes. Dig a large planting hole the size of a 10 litre bucket. Roses are sometimes supplied without a root ball and in this case should be placed with the roots in a bucket of water for some time (2 hours) so that they fill well. Place the rose with the roots in the planting hole and fill the hole with Culvita rose soil. If you gently shake the bush when filling the rose soil, all the roots will come into good contact with the soil particles. Give plenty of water, but do not leave any water in the planting hole. Fill the rest of the planting hole - if necessary - with the excavated soil. Continue to water regularly during the first year after planting. The roots must have the opportunity to establish themselves in the soil and connect with the groundwater.
A part of the roots will grow into the soil.
A part of the roots, the "feeder roots", settle in the topsoil and are used by the plant to absorb the nutrients mineralised (released) in the topsoil. Be careful not to damage the roots when hoeing and/or raking between the beds.
Patio and potted roses
These plants are usually supplied in pots. Moisten the root ball well and pat the plant out of the pot. If you want to repot it in a larger pot or a larger pot, make sure that the new pot is thoroughly clean. If the pot is not glazed, soak it well in water first.
Place a few potsherds on the bottom hole if necessary. Fill the new pot or planter with Culvita Rose Soil and plant the rose bushes without damaging the roots, and add some Culvita Hydrokörner as a drainage layer in the bottom of the pot. Water abundantly, but make sure that no water remains in the pot. Roses in pots or containers should be watered regularly during the growth and flowering period. If you want to plant a pot or patio rose in the garden, follow the instructions for shrub roses in the garden.
